Ann Nicolaysen LMP, CCST, BFA

Ann is a Licensed Massage Practitioner and a Certified Craniosacral Therapist with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting. She has been a Licensed Massage Practitioner since 1992 and received her certification in Craniosacral therapy in 2003.  In 2002 she joined QANC and after a two year hiatus is happy to be back!

Along with massage, Ann also teaches Nia classes.  Nia is a wonderful fitness fusion integrating Dance arts, Martial arts and Healing Arts.  With inspiring music and intuitive choreography, Nia provides the perfect playground to deepen awareness of your body, sensing how it wants to move in order to thrive and heal.

“For the past thirty years I have dedicated myself to the exploration of the magnificent human form through my career in the performing and healing arts. I began my journey as an aerobics/fitness instructor, then received my BFA in acting from Cornish College of The Arts and went on to discover a rewarding twenty plus-year long path as a massage therapist specializing in connective tissue therapies.”

Ann’s philosophy and approach is that massage and movement are a vital and integral part of anyone’s health care and wellness program.

Ann has advanced training in:

  • Various injury treatments for: whiplash, frozen shoulder, low back and neck pain.

  • Integrative Fascial Release:  IFR targets the connective tissues of the body, primarily myofascia, ligaments and joints, in a manner that is ever mindful of the autonomic nervous system.  IFR works to help release adhesions and restrictions, rehydrate the connective tissue, reduce pain, and increase range of motion.
  • Neurostructural Integration Technique:  Based on the work of Tom Bowen, NST is a remarkably effective bodywork technique that stimulates the natural auto-regulation process in the spine and throughout the body. Effective in treating conditions of acute or chronic pain, NST reduces pain and increases range of motion.

  • Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle hands-on healing technique that helps restore the body’s natural healing processes.

A gifted practitioner with a gentle, grounded presence, Ann offers a unique and dynamic blend of massage, movement and connective tissue therapies to promote wellness through body awareness.  Her strength is her ability to integrate all of her experience and techniques to suit the individual needs of each person.  Ann views each person as a unique map and looks for lines of tension to see where movement is easy or strained.  She is like a pioneer working to understand the landscape of the body.

Appointments are available with Ann on Tuesdays and Thursdays with flexible hours – mornings, afternoons and evenings.  Gift certificates are available as well as frequent massage cards that offer a price break. To schedule your massage please call Ann directly at (206) 963-9479.
